Aeration

Lawn Aeration

Aeration is a key lawn care service that removes small plugs of soil, leaving them on the surface. This process opens pathways for air, water, and nutrients to reach the roots, encouraging deeper, stronger growth and a healthier lawn overall.

We use a stand-on aerator with hydraulic down pressure, capable of pulling 3–4” plugs (depending on soil conditions). For access, lawn gates must have at least 36” clearance to accommodate our 35.5” wide machine.

Benefits of Aeration

  • Relieves soil compaction

  • Improves nutrient and water absorption

  • Encourages deeper root development

  • Enhances lawn health, thickness, and appearance

Best Timing for Aeration

Over time, soil naturally compacts, making it harder for grass roots to get the air, water, and nutrients they need. Aeration relieves this compaction, giving your lawn the “breathing room” it needs to thrive.

Best Timing for Aeration

  • Spring: April 1st – May 15th (before summer heat sets in)

  • Fall: September 1st – mid-October (ideal for recovery and growth)
We recommend at least one aeration per year, though many homeowners choose both spring and fall for maximum results.

Standard aeration starts at $79.00 for lawns up to 4,000 sq. ft.
